Marcelo vs. Mr. Michaels

What We Learned About Balance

Here's What We Learned About Balance
  1. We added clothespins as counter weight to make things balance.
  2. Counter weight is when you add weight to balance things.
  3. We put counter weight on the bottom of things to make it balance and not fall over.
  4. If the weight is on top, something will fall over.

4.  I love to drink coffee.
5.  I have four kids.

We had a few guesses and one of us was right.  This week's Mystery Reader was:

Science Experiment #1 - Balance

Our first science experiment about balance.

Work Stations

This is what our classroom looks like during work stations.  You can see us working together in groups making words.  Some of us are listening to books on iPods.  We are also doing some writing activities at our desks.  There are many learning opportunities taking place during work station time!

Mystery Reader #3

Did you guess who our third Mystery Reader was?  It was Doniece's mom, Mrs. Allen!  She gave us some good clues and Doniece was able to guess pretty quickly that it was her mom.  We were so happy to have come in and read to us.

Mystery Reader #3

Here are the clues for our third mystery reader.  See if you can guess who it might be!

Fire Prevention Week

Williamsport firefighters came to talk to us about fire safety.

Here are some things we learned:
1.  Stay low to the floor and feel the door with the back of your hand to see if it is warm.
2.  If you can't get out of your room, hang a blanket or some clothes out of the window.
3.  You should have smoke detectors in your house and have a safety plan with your family.
4.  Fire fighters have an alarm on them that beeps if they are still for awhile.
